Gosainkunda is a high altitude lake in the Langtang region of Nepal, located about 140 kilometers north of Kathmandu, with a trek to the lake taking about 5-7 days to complete. The lake is considered sacred by Hindus, who believe that it was created by Lord Shiva himself, and it is a popular destination for pilgrims during the Janai Purnima festival in August.
