Everest Base Camp Trek is the most phenomenal highest peak trek of the Nepal and whole world. Base camp of mighty Mount Everest lies in Khumbu Region at an altitude of (5,364m/17,598 ft) and it's geographical location is (28°0′26″N 86°51′34″E). The maximum altitude we will ascend during this trek is up to Kala Patthar (5,644m/18,519 ft)(The viewpoint of Everest Base Camp Trek). The forested valleys, high passes, glaciers, different cultures, traditions, and many snowcapped mountains passing along the way and every footstep towards the Everest add the utmost significance to traveling history. The heavenly landscapes of the Khumbu region and the most admirable site in the entire Himalayas  are one of the grounds for this peak to be famous among countries and peoples. Everest Base Camp trekking starts from The Tenzing Hillary Airport which is also known as Lukla airport and is situated at an altitude of (9,337 ft / 2,846 m)  from sea level. Guides, porters and several community people along the way assist trekkers. The charm of various group of people and elegance of beauty of nature all the way along makes the journey more fascinating. Then, you will find a beautifully crafted Himalayan town which is nestled along the crescent-shaped hill slopes which makes the walk more intense AKA 'Namche Bazaar'. It is considered as the administrative center and historical capital of the Khumbu region. Sherpa Museum at Namche Bazaar gives you insight of local culture and historical achievements like "Hall of fame" gallery of Sherpas who summited Everest, Photos of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay (first climbers to reach the peak).

Hotel BB/ Full Board Kathmandu (1,300 m/4,592 ft)

Duration: Kathmandu to Lukla flight (30 minute) 
                 : Kathmandu to Manthali Airport (4 hrs drive) and         Manthali to Lukla (20 minute flight)

You will either take a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (30 minute flight) or drive about 4 hours to Manthali Airport, followed by a 20-minute flight to Lukla. After landing at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, the trek begins with a gentle downhill walk.
You will pass through Cheplung and Ghat villages, enjoying views of lush green valleys, pine forests, and the beautiful Dudh Koshi River. This region follows Buddhism, so you’ll see prayer flags, mani walls, and stupas along the way. After around 3–4 hours of walking, you’ll reach Phakding, a peaceful riverside village known for its lodges, bakeries, and tea houses. You'll stay overnight at a lodge in Phakding.

After breakfast, your trek begins with uphill along the Dudh Koshi River. The trail offers views of forests, waterfalls, and prayer wheels. You’ll catch your first glimpse of Mt. Thamserku (6,608m).
At Monjo, you’ll enter the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trail features multiple suspension bridges, including the scenic Tenzing-Hillary Bridge. After that, the climb to Namche Bazaar becomes steeper and more physical demanding.
After about 2 hours of uphill trekking, you will reach at Namche Bazaar—a vibrant mountain town where tradition meets modernity. Here, you’ll find shops, cafes, bakeries, and beautiful mountain views. After checking into your lodge, enjoy a short walk around in the evening.

Today is your first acclimatization day at Namche Bazar. You will rest to prevent from altitude sickness. After breakfast, you’ll hike up to the famous Everest View Hotel (3,800m). From here, enjoy panoramic views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, and more.
You can relax with a cup of tea or coffee while soaking in the stunning Himalayan scenery. Later, you’ll return to Namche Bazaar for lunch, rest, and an optional evening stroll.

After breakfast, the trail leads gently uphill with breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse etc. Along the way, you’ll pass mani stones and prayer flags.
At Sanasa, the trail descends through beautiful pine and rhododendron forests. You’ll cross the Dudh Koshi River on a metal bridge at Phunki Tenga, where you’ll stop for lunch. Afterward, begin a steady uphill climb through forested paths to reach Tengboche.
Here, you’ll visit the Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, originally built in 1916. After visiting, you’ll check into your lodge for the night.

The day starts with a short descent through rhododendron forests, passing the Deboche Nunnery and prayer flags. You’ll cross a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola River and then begin a gradual climb through open valleys with excellent views of Ama Dablam.
After lunch in Somare, continue on a gentle uphill trail to reach the high-altitude village of Dingboche. After check-in, enjoy a short acclimatization walk in the area.

After the hike, return to Dingboche and take a proper rest to prepare for higher altitudes in the coming days.

After the hike, return to Dingboche and take a proper rest to prepare for higher altitudes in the coming days.

Today is one of the most exciting day of the trek. After an early breakfast, trek through glacial moraines and rocky terrain to reach GorakShep. After checking in and having lunch, continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364m).
The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier ridge, and though it’s challenging, the reward is unforgettable. Reaching base camp is a proud and emotional moment. Take photos, enjoy the view, and then return to GorakShep for the night.

Wake up early and hike to Kala Patthar, best viewpoint for sunrise over Mount Everest, along with views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Lingtren, and others. It’s a challenging but rewarding.
After the sunrise view, descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then follow the trail down to Thukla. From there, take the trail to Pheriche, a village located in a wide valley with a river and stunning mountain views.

Today’s trail descends gradually through the open valley and passes Deboche before reaching Tengboche. From there, you’ll descend steeply to Phunki Tenga for lunch.
After lunch, make a final uphill climb through forests, reaching Sanasa. The trail then becomes easier and mostly flat as you continue to Namche Bazaar.

It is not mandatory to hire a guide for the trek to Everest Base Camp, but it is highly recommended. According to the standard Itinerary it takes about 14-15 days to trek to EBC and back. Absolutely you can amend it as you wish. The total distance you will trek during EBC is 130 Km. Each 65 Km to and from EBC. Generally those who can walk 5-6 hours per day can trek to EBC.

Yes!! Anyone can trek EBC without any trekking experience. Trekking to EBC isn’t that hard, you should have more stamina and good health conditions. If you are planning to trek EBC without any experience then you can contact us prior to 30 days so that we can guide you through some exercises and diets you should consider as preparation for Everest Base Camp trek.

On the classic route there is no roadway but on the trekking route to Everest Base Camp from Tibet(North Side Everest Base Camp) the road way is available. Also, You can subscribe to Trekking and Heli return on EBC as Short trek to trek through classic trail which takes less time comparatively to roadway trek and gives you classic way trekking experience.

Yes!! The Internet is accessible during the EBC trek. You can access the 3G network on mobile phones. The mobile internet is fast enough to browse and even make video calls. You will get continuous signal during the whole trek but there will be certain dark spots along the trek where connection may drop. There are limited wifi hotspots during the trek which will charge for usage only some will let you use it for free. So, for internet access we recommend you to buy a SIM and use 3G.

Due to the advancement of the trekking industry, we can find enough lodges and tea houses throughout Everest Region trekking routes. They offer good food and accommodation. There are different options you can choose according to your needs and budget. Also you should know that at high altitude places like Gorakshep the service will be limited.

There is no age limit for trekking to Everest. The things that are to be considered are your health and fitness and agreement. We do not recommend childrens as it will be too hard and risky to trek with them.

There are two base camps on either side (North and South) of Mount Everest. South base camp is in Nepal at an altitude of (5363m/17598ft) above sea level and North base camp is located in Tibet at an altitude of (5514m/18093ft) above sea level.

Yes!! You can charge mobile phones and camera batteries during the trek. At most of the places you will get to charge for free but at some places you have to pay some amount to charge. Remember that It is always better to bring your power bank with you which will be helpful.

The permits required for Everest Three Pass Trek are:

  • An entry permit into the Sagarmatha national park or conservation area.
  • Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.

One Managing Director started his career as a porter before spending many years as a professional trekking guide. Having worked his way through every stage of the trekking industry, he brings unmatched firsthand knowledge of Nepal's mountains, trails, safety, and guest care. Even today, he continues to join trekking groups whenever possible to maintain the highest standards of service.

Our other Managing Director leads operations and guest support, ensuring every trip runs smoothly from your first inquiry to your safe return. He oversees permits, transportation, accommodation, logistics, and the coordination of our experienced guides and porters, making sure every detail is carefully planned.

Best Time to Visit

Everest base camp trek is possible for whole year so we can organize your trip according your prefer schedule. The best time to trek is,

Spring (March-May): Clear skies and blooming rhododendrons.

Autumn (September-November): Crisp weather and excellent visibility.

Visa Process at Airport

In Nepal you can obtain on-arrival visa at Airport after complete the necessary form fill up. The cost is USD 30 for 15 days for tourist visa and USD 50 for 30 days. Digital payment are frequently unavailable so USD cash should bring to pay your visa fees quickly and easily.

Welcome in Airport

Our staff will be waiting at TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport) with guest name at company signboard and transfer to hotel in private vechicle.

About SIM Card

SIM cards are readily available at the airport and in the Thamel market. In Nepal, you can choose between two major network providers: Ncell and Nepal Telecom (NTC). We recommend opting for Ncell due to its extensive coverage, especially in remote areas.

To confirm the trip 20% or full payment should be needed. The remaining amount can be paid at Kathmandu after your arrival. US Dollar cash and credit cards are accepted. Please note 4% transaction fee will be added for all credit card transaction.

In Thamel you can easily exchange your money in currency exchange center or use your cards to cash out by AMT facility with minimum charge.

Age Restrictions for Trekking in Everest Region

If they are healthy and wiling there is no age restrictions for Everest Base Camp. Many young & old peoples from 5 years to 65 years old people have completed Everest Base Camp trek every year.

Physical Fitness

Everest Base Camp is challenging trek high altitude and long duration. Every day around 6 to 7 hours need to walk to cover 4/5km.We recommend to walk slowly to help with acclimatization.

Difficulty Level

The trek is rated moderately difficult. It involves long hours of walking on uneven terrain, with altitudes reaching up to 5,545 meters. Proper acclimatization and preparation are crucial.

Weather & Temperature

In Everest region it’s very hard to forecast the weather. Some days can be rain, fog, cold, hot etc. Night time temperature are significantly lower than day time temperature. Weather and temperature ranges are typically based on month & Season. We recommend trekkers to have sleeping bag about -10 degree Celsius.

About Flight to Lukla

During peak seasons, such as March, April, May, September, October and November flights to Lukla operate from Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu due to high air traffic. Ramechhap is a 7-hour drive from Thamel, Kathmandu. In other months, flights operate directly from Kathmandu.

Passing through Sherpa village, trek is mix of deep cultural and spiritual experiences and physically challenges test your strength & endurance.

Check Point

Monjo is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park at “Jorsale” check point where permits are checked.

Bag and its weight

Total weight should be 15kilos (33pounds) on your flight from Kathmandu- Lukla - Kathmandu with hand carry. So 4/5kilos on hand carry & 11/10kilos in checked bag. If your bag is more then they allowed weight you have to pay extra USD 2 to 5 USD per Kilogram. Therefore we recommend you pack within 15 kg weight limit or drop unnecessary items in Kathmandu hotel.

Sleeping bag & Down Jacket Weight
Approximately 1.7kg weight will be sleeping bag & 1.2kg weight will be down jacket.

Our potter have 70-80 little capacity duffle bag and he can carry 20/25/30 kg weight of two people.

Morning Trekking & Ending time

Early morning we will wake up around 7:00 – 7:30 am and we will do shortly stretching our body. After breakfast at guesthouses we will start our joinery from 8am to evening 4/5pm. After dinner our guide will explain about tomorrow timing and activates.

About Accommodation

In Kathmandu, we offer a wide variety of accommodation options, ranging from 5-star to 2-star hotels. Guests can choose between Bed and Breakfast (BB) or Full Board plans based on their preferences.

During the trek, we use teahouses that provide clean and comfortable rooms with either private or shared bathrooms. In Lukla, Phakding, and Namche, we ensure accommodations with attached toilets. However, in other locations along the trek, shared toilet facilities are available.

We recommend that you bring personal items such as towels, soap, hand sanitizer, and other essentials for your comfort.

Food in Trek

Multiple choices are available in guesthouses like Daal Bhat, Bread Eggs, Potatoes, Pasta, and Soup etc. Hot drinks include coffee, hot Chocolate, Tea, Lemon drinks. Vegetarian meals are provided by teahouses.

Drinking Water

Tap water can be found along the trek in guesthouses and water purification tablets should use to purify the natural water to make them safe to drink. You can buy boiled water from the teahouse to ensure safe drinking water as an alternative.

Hot Water for Shower

Hot water are available from Lukla to Namche Bazar with extra cost. We don’t recommend to take shower from Dingboche to avoid sickness.

Laundry Services

We recommend to pack enough clothes .However, Namche bazar & Dingbouche we have acclimatization days, on that days you can wash your clothes. Some guesthouses provide laundry services with extra charge.

Guide Service

Our guides are certified by Government of Nepal with valid trekking guide licenses. They received training in mountain safety, first aid and customer service. They are familiar with local terrain, culture and weather condition. Our guides are fluent in Nepal. Our guide will play role as bridge between trekkers and local communities, promoting culture exchanges and understanding. They will arrange your lodges and food entire whole trip.

Potter Service

We will selected potter based on their Physical fitness, honesty and reliability. Our potter won’t be under age or old age. Work together with guides and fellow porters to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trekking experiences. Our potter will be always local people so that he can adjust with altitude. He will carry 20/25 kg according to situation.

Attitude Sickness Prevention

Attitude sickness is possibility during this trek. Higher elevations has less oxygen available. To avoid altitude sickness trekkers are educated about symptoms and prevention strategies. Our guide encourage hydration, rest and provide guidance on managing symptoms. All we provide guides are received high altitude training from Kathmandu Environment Education Project (KEEP). We will continuous received updates from our guides and give them advice.

Evacuation Procedures

Guide and staff are trained in coordinating emergency evacuation from horse to mules or helicopter in the must needed case especially when clients needed to be hospitalized. Our Guide are 24hrs available for the service during the trek.

Extra Money

You should carry Nepali rupee to pay extra service which are not included in our itinerary like hot shower, battery charge, extra drink etc. For tips to guide & potter it’s based on level of service provided by them.

About solo female travelers

Nepal is safe and welcoming destinations for solo female travelers. To ensure a comfortable and supportive experience, we can arrange a professional female trekking guide upon request.

During the trek, accommodating is typically in teahouse, which offer a cozy and communal atmosphere. Due to limited space, solo travels will share room with fellow trekkers of the same gender, providing an excellent opportunity to connect and share experiences with like-minded adventures.

Waste Management

The president of the NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) warned that pollution, especially human waste, has reached critical levels. The problem of human waste is compounded by the presence of more anodyne waste: spent oxygen tanks, abandoned tents, empty cans and bottle. Before climbing the peak in Everest Region, NMA will take USD 500 deposit as “Garbage deposit.
