Mardi Himal Trek Overview

Dhampus Phedi is where the trek begins after a jeep drive towards bumpy roadway. Standing at the top of the ridge of Deurali sets the panoramic view of Annapurna massif and beautiful Pokhara valley. Moving from Deurali and making a way towards Rhododendron woodland proffers it’s amazing beauty that cannot be overlooked. More the climb towards uphill, further the view of mountains appears stupendous. Moving through the low camp to high camp, the landscapes becomes more steep and little challenging to climb however, the gazing of animals, the scenic view brush-off the little difficulties that the trekkers encounter along the way.

Following the rocky steps towards the base camp offers the stunning view of Mt. Macchapuchre (Fistail), Mountains of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli Mountain and many amazing snow-capped peaks leaving the traveller startled with its beauty. Spend a quality time viewing the immense mountains and glorious atmosphere and move towards Sidhing village inhabited mostly by Gurung and Magar community that provides an opportunity to get the taste of Nepali culture, tradition, lifestyle and organic Nepali foods.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft) and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: Guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu/preparation for the trek.

Day 03: Drive/Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2,689ft) (5-6 hrs drive or 25 minutes fly).

Day 04: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m/6,720ft) (30 minutes drive, 4-5 hrs walk).

Day 05: Trek from Deurali to forest camp (2,520m/8064ft) (6-7 hours walk).

Day 06: Trek from Forest Camp to low camp (2970m/9504ft) (5-6 hours walk ).

Day 07: Trek from Low camp to high camp (3540m/11,328ft) (3-4 hours).

Day 08: Trek from High camp to upper viewpoint (4250m/13600ft), return back to high camp (2-3 hours walk).

Day 09: Trek from High camp to Sidhing Village (1700m/5440ft) (6-7 hrs walk).

Day 10: Trek to Lumre and drive back to Pokhara.

Day 11: Fly or drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 12: Farewell, departure transfers to Tribhuvan International Airport as per flight schedule.

Is It difficult to trek Mardi Himal ?

Mardi Himal Trek is a strenuous trekking route. Although There are numerous challenges like the rugged terrain, steep slopes, trekking route through stone stairs and continuous walking of 5 to 6 hours per day. That being said, Mardi Himal Trek is doable and can be undertaken by travelers who have the right attitude and are physically fit .

Which is the prime time for Mardi Himal Trek ?

The prime time for trekking Mardi Himal is during Spring (March, April and May) and Autumn (October and November). During these seasons the weather will be clear, you will get long sunlight hours, fewer bugs, flowers will bloom on the way, the charm of the atmosphere can be felt by the heart, magnificent views of the Himalayas can be seen and you can escape the crowd and enjoy the pleasure of trekking.

Do we need oxygen on Mardi Himal Trek ?

We will start our trek from Phedi and ascend up to Mardi Upper viewpoint (4250m/13600ft). We have created Itinerary in proportion to proper acclimatization so normally we don’t need oxygen on this trek. In case of altitude sickness we will descend immediately. If any altitude sickness symptoms are seen then we provide Diamox as a medication.

What if I cancel the trip , do I get my refund ?

What is the Accommodation Like ?

Is the Internet accessible during Mardi Himal Trek ?

Yes!! The Internet is accessible during the Mardi Himal Trek. You can access the 3G network on mobile phones. The mobile internet is fast enough to browse and even make video calls. What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.

How to select a local agency for trekking ?

Trekking via the local agency is one of the great ideas for trekkers. There are more local trekking organizations in Nepal. The hard part is you need to recognize whether they are authorized businesses and are members of the Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN).You can view their internet site and profiles commonly all legal organizations will upload their profile along with authorities-legal certificates.

Can I charge my mobile phones and camera batteries during the trek ?

Yes!! You can charge mobile phones and camera batteries during the trek. At most of the places you will get to charge for free but at some places you have to pay some amount to charge. Remember that It is always better to bring your power bank with you which will be helpful.

What are the permits required for Mardi Himal Trek ?

How long will it take to trek Mardi Himal Trek ?
