Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is the perfect taste of trek that leads towards the stunning panorama of immense mountains following the irregular and beautiful landscapes, warm welcoming multilingual villages, decorative woodland by colourful flowers and a land covered with mountains. Driving towards Pokhara and then to little town of Nayapul where the trekking begins.

Annapurna I, Annapurna south, Annapurna II, III, IV (8,091 metres, 10th highest mountain in the world),Mt. Gangapurna (7,455), LamjungHimal(6,987 metres), Barasikhar, Nilgiri(7,061 metres), Tukuche Peak(6,920m), Hiunchuli(6,441), Manaslu ranges(8,156m, eight highest peak in the world) and many other snow-capped peaks that overwhelms the one standing at the top. All the way through the rhododendron forest and the crafted cultural villages. Step at the most relaxing Jhinu (5,840ft) Hot Spring pool built into the riverbank of Modikhola and catch a sight of sparkling river by relaxing in a therapeutic hot water. The trek ends towards Nayapul and after sightseeing at Pokhara we make  our way back to Kathmandu. Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft) and transfer to Hotel.

Adventure Mountain Nepal Trekking and Climbing’s airport arrival and departure representative will meet you at the airport as per your arrival schedule. He/she welcomes and drives you to the hotel. Check-in hotel and take a rest or relaxation time at Hotel. Then you can have a free excursion to know the surroundings and visit our office to get brief information of Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking, we also conduct an introduction program with the trekking leader and official team. Accommodation: Hotel or Resort as per your request. Meal includes: Breakfast. In general we prefer BB plan for your stay in cities so you can choose varieties of tastes in different restaurants around the city.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu/preparation for the trek.

Breakfast at hotel. Our guide will pick you up from hotel for sightseeing of World Heritage Sites. Actually there are seven World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu and we arrange sightseeing spots according to your choice, you have to choose only 3/4 spots for a day since it is not possible to visit all places in a single day – at least 2/3 days requires to have sightseeing tour of all heritage sites in Kathmandu. World Heritage Sites of UNESCO in Kathmandu are; Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Swyambhunath Temple, Pashuapatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa and Changu Narayan Temple.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (5-6 hrs drive or 25 minutes flight), transfer to hotel at Lake Side.

Early breakfast at hotel. Drive/ Fly to Pokhara. While drive on a bus it take 5-6 hours via Prithivi Highway where you can see beautiful Trishui River, Dense green forests, many green hills and several village settlements on the way. And if you choose airway it only take 25 minutes. Check-in hotel with welcome drinks. In the evening rest at Hotel or know the surrounding around lake side Pokhara.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1 & half Hr drive) & Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m/5,172ft) (3-4 Hrs walk).

Breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Nayapul for approximately 1 and half hours. When we reach Nayapul we can take few times for refreshment hot/cold drinks before start the walk. Then we start trek to Tikhedhunga which take 3-4 hours walk. The trail ascends to Beritthati. Then we follow the east bank of Bhurungdi Khola to Tikhedhunge. Overnight at teahouse (Local Lodge) where you can taste different Nepalese cuisine.

Day 05: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,855m/9,364ft) (5-6 hrs walk).

Morning walk winds up on a steep climb for near 2 hrs on the stone steps to Ulleri village. From Ulleri, the trail ascends gradually through a colorful rainforest for few hours with few ups and downs. The walk leads nearer to Ghorepani, feeling the altitude and change of vegetation. Trekking in the midst of rhododendron woods till Ghorepani village is reached for the overnight stop, witnessing grand views of Dhaulagiri range of mountains in the west and Annapurna South in the north.

Day 06: Early morning hike to Poonhill (3,210m/10,528ft) & trek to Tadapani (2,590m/8,495ft) (5-6 hrs walk) or same day can continue to Ghandruk.

Today we start trek early in the morning to Poonhill view point for tantalizing sunrise views over the Himalayas which is located at west side of Ghoripani village. We climb up through rhododendron, oak and bamboo forest. We can view several White Mountains including whole Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri from Poon Hill. After, taking precious picture we return back to Ghorepani for breakfast via the same trail. Leaving Ghorepani firstly we climb few ups to Deurali, a small settlement. Then we follow descend trail to the bridge and again climb an uphill to Tadapani which is a beautiful village from where we can have splendid views of Annanapurna and Machhapurchre mountains.

Day 07: Trek to Jhinu Hot Spring (1780m/5,840ft).

Move towards downstep and walk through beautiful land covered with mountains. Take a hot bath at the natural hot spring (Jhinu Hot spring) with a view of forest and sound of bird chirping. Spend a quality day there.

Day 08: Trek to Nayapool. Drive to Pokhara. Evening free exploration.

Walk towards Nayapool by crossing the beautiful villages and spend the remaining time at Pokhara exploring the city, lake side and shopping mall of Pokhara.

Day 09: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

After breakfast, drive from Pokhara or you can take a flight as per convenience.

Day 10: Farewell, departure transfers to Tribhuvan Internationa Airport as per flight schedule.

Our airport arrival and departure representative will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your scheduled flight. Meal includes: Breakfast

Is It difficult to trek to Ghorepani Poonhill ?

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is a moderate level trekking route. Although There are numerous challenges like the rugged terrain, steep slopes, trekking route through stone stairs and continuous walking of 5 to 6 hours per day. That being said, the trek to Ghorepani Poonhill can be undertaken by travelers who have the right attitude and are physically fit .

Which is the prime time for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek ?

The prime time for trekking Ghorepani Poonhill is during Spring (March, April and May) and Autumn (October and November). During these seasons the weather will be clear, you will get long sunlight hours, fewer bugs, flowers will bloom on the way, the charm of the atmosphere can be felt by the heart, magnificent views of the Himalayas can be seen and you can escape the crowd and enjoy the pleasure of trekking.

Do we need oxygen on Ghorepani Poonhill Trek ?

We will start our trek from Nayapul and ascend up to Poonhill (3,210m/10,528ft). We have created Itinerary in proportion to proper accommodation so normally we don’t need oxygen on this trek. In case of altitude sickness we will descend immediately. If any altitude sickness symptoms are seen then we provide Diamox as a medication.

Is the Internet accessible during Upper Mustang Trek ?

Yes!! The Internet is accessible during the Annapurna Circuit Trek. You can access the 3G network on mobile phones. The mobile internet is fast enough to browse and even make video calls. You will get continuous signal during the whole trek but there will be certain dark spots along the trek where connection may drop. What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.

How to select a local agency for trekking ?

Trekking via the local agency is one of the great ideas for trekkers. There are more local trekking organizations in Nepal. The hard part is you need to recognize whether they are authorized businesses and are members of the Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN).You can view their internet site and profiles commonly all legal organizations will upload their profile along with authorities-legal certificates.

Can I charge my mobile phones and camera batteries during the trek ?

Yes!! You can charge mobile phones and camera batteries during the trek. At most of the places you will get to charge for free but at some places you have to pay some amount to charge. Remember that It is always better to bring your power bank with you which will be helpful.

How long will it take to trek Ghorepani Poonhill ?

Normally on day 6 of the trek trekkers will reach the Poonhill which is at the altitude of (3,210m/10,528ft) from sea level, highest altitude you will be during the trek and descend back.
