Introduction

Tharpu Chuli Peak also referred to as Tent Peak, located within the Annapurna region and known for its distinct shape. Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing offers an exciting experience on the journey to its summit. It is situated within the center of the Annapurna Sanctuary opposite the Machhapuchhre (6997m). It's considered to be one of the best peaks to climb. The Tharpu Chuli Peak journey isn't just famed beautiful for its rich cultural diversity. It starts from the Gurung village but also boasts of a plethora of ecological bounty.

 

A spectacularly positioned Tharpu Chuli peak at the head of the Annapurna Base Camp is standing in a direct line of one of the most admirable mountains in the world “Macchapuchre (Fishtail)”. The peak can be accessed from Annapurna Base Camp easily. Thus it is a combination of Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking, Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, and finally up to Peak climbing adventure. The views from the summit are some of the finest in the Himalayas. We can have sceneries of Annapurna I 8091m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna V 7525m, Annapurna South 7219m, Gangapurna 7455m, Fang 7647m, Machhapuchre (Fish-Tail) 6997m, Hiunchuli 6331m, and Singu Chuli or Fluted Peak 6501m.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft) and transfer to Hotel.

Adventure Mountain Nepal Trekking and Climbing’s airport arrival and departure representative will meet you at the airport as per your arrival schedule. He/she welcome you and drive to the hotel. Check-in hotel and take a rest or relaxation time at Hotel.We prefer BB plan for your stay in cities so you can choose varieties of tastes in different restaurants around the city.

Day 02: Guided tour around world’s Heritage sites of Kathmandu.

Breakfast Hotel/Resort

Breakfast at the hotel. Our guide will pick you up from the hotel for sightseeing of World Heritage Sites. Actually, there are seven World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu and we arrange sightseeing spots according to your choice, choose only 3/4 spots for a day since it is not possible to visit all places in a single day–at least 2/3 days required to have sightseeing tour of all heritage sites in Kathmandu. World Heritage Sites of UNESCO in Kathmandu are; Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Swyambhunath Temple, Pashuapatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa and Changu Narayan Temple.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2,689ft).

5-6 Hrs drive Breakfast Hotel/Resort

Early breakfast at the hotel. Drive/ Fly to Pokhara. While drive on a bus it take 5-6 hours via Prithivi Highway where you can see beautiful Trishui River, Dense green forests, many green hills and several village settlements on the way. And if you choose airway, it only take 25 minutes. Check-in hotel with welcome drinks. In the evening rest at Hotel or know the surrounding around lake side Pokhara.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1 & half hr drive) &Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m/5,172ft).

3-4 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Nayapul for approximately 1 and a half hours. When we reach Nayapul, we can take a few minutes for refreshment hot/cold drinks before starting the walk. Then we start the trek to Tikhedhunga which takes 3-4 hours walk. The trail ascends to Beritthati. Then we follow the east bank of Bhurungdi Khola to Tikhedhunge. Overnight at teahouse (Local Lodge) where you can taste different Nepalese cuisine.

Day 05: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,855m/9,364ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

After having breakfast, we start the trek to Ghorepani for 5-6 hours. The trail ascends to Ulleri Village through rhododendron forest. Then we follow ups and down to Ghorepani pass at first and then Ghorepani village. From Ghorepani village we can see majestic views of Himalayan range including Dhaulagri and Annapurna range.

Day 06: Early morning hike to Poonhill (3,210m/10,528ft) & trek to Tadapani (2,590m/8,495ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Today we start trek early in the morning to Poonhill view point for tantalizing sunrise views over the Himalayas which is located at west side of Ghoripani village. We climb up through rhododendron, oak and bamboo forest. We can view several White Mountains including whole Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri from Poon Hill. After taking precious picture we return to Ghorepani for breakfast via the same trail. Then we climb few ups to Daurali, a small settlement. Then we follow descend trail to the bridge and again climb ups to Tadapani which is a beautiful village from where we can have splendid views of Annanapurna and Machhapurchre mountains

Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,340m/7,675ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Breakfast at the teahouse. Today you walk through rhododendron forest descends to Kimrong Khola. Gurjung village on the way which is considered as biggest valley settlement of this area from where you can view beautiful Mt Annapurna south, Himalchuli and Fishtail.

Day 08: Trek from Chhomrong to Dobhan (2,600m/8,528ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Breakfast at Tea House. Today we follow the trial descends to the Chhomrong Khola and leads to Sunawa hills. When we finish Sunawa hills immediately we start following Upper Modi Valley. We make a lunch break at Upper Modi and continue downhill all the way to Dobhan.

Day 09: Trek from Dobhan to Machhapuchre Base Camp (3,700m/12,136ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Breakfast at the teahouse. Our interesting day walk starts by following narrow Modi Valley. All the way to Machhapuchre Base Camp we explore rugged hills, cascading waterfalls and majestic views of Mountains. Today we ascend over a thousand meters altitude, it might be tough for a few trekkers thus we can also stay at Deurali which is on the way to Machhapuchre Base Camp, 1-2 hours before reaching at Machhapuchre Base Camp.

Day 10: Short walk to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,546ft) and full day exploration around.

2-3 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Breakfast at a teahouse. Today follow ascends trial. After walking 2-3 hours to we reach Annapurna Base Camp. The climate is often cold, windy and snow bond around the Base Camp. We see amazing roofless Sherpa Huts on the way. Once we reach at Annapurna Base Camp, it feels feel like we reach in the Heaven with splendid sceneries. After having a memorable time at Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 11: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Tent Peak Base Camp (4,800m/15,744ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

The base camp may be a flat rocky campsite , which may be reached along the trail from the Annapurna Base Camp. we'll be walking on moraines of the Annapurna Glacier. The geography here is stunning and may be felt only on the high altitude intrinsically . we'd be ready to meet other trekkers on an expedition in these areas too. Overnight occupy Tharpu Chuli Base Camp.

Day 12: Trek from Tent Peak Base Camp to High Camp (5,200m/17,056ft).

We'll be making an ascent to high camp today. A steep climb this path is rocky and it's advised that you simply take much caution when taking this route. We'll be blessed panoramic views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Fishtail (m), Annapurna South (7,229m). We'll reach high camp and found out the tents. we will spend the remainder of the day practicing for the trek on the subsequent day and learn to use the equipment for the climb. Overnight at High Camp.

Day 13: Rest, acclimatization and climb preparation at Tent Peak High Camp.

Full Board Tented Camps

Today is about aside for acclimatization alone. Spending overtime at a high altitude location will guarantee that we've a successful trip. We spend the entire day resting and exploring the majestic view. Overnight in Tent Peak High Camp.

Day 14: Summit to Tharpu Chuli (5695m/18684ft) and back to Base Camp (4400m/14435ft).

6-7 Hrs ascend Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

We will begin our final climb around midnight.We'll cross small streams and be walking on glaciers as we make our thanks to the summit, which can approximately take 6-7 hours. we'll make the climb using ropes that are pre-fixed. Reaching the highest feels ecstatic, as numerous days’ worth of diligence will have finally paid off and that we are going to be offered blissful views of the mountains within the Annapurna region. After we enjoy the fantastic moment and take some memorable pictures, we'll make our way back to the bottom camp. Overnight at Base Camp.

Day 15: Trek from High Camp to Annapurna Base Camp.

6-7 Hrs descend Full Board Tea House available

We will begin our final climb around midnight. We will cross small streams and be walking on glaciers as we make our way to the summit, which will approximately take 6-7 hours. We will make the climb using ropes that have been pre-fixed. Reaching the top feels ecstatic, as so many days’ worth of hard work will have finally paid off and we will be offered blissful views of the mountains in the Annapurna region. After we enjoy the glorious moment and take some memorable pictures, we will make our way back to the base camp. Overnight at Base Camp.

Day 16: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dobhan via Machhapuchre Base Camp.

4-5 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

We see amazing roofless Sherpa Huts on the way. Once we reach at Machhapuchre Base Camp, it feels feel like we reach in the Heaven with splendid sceneries. After having a memorable time at Annapurna Base Camp, we descend to Dobhan.

Day 17: Trek from Dobhan to Chhomrong.

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Breakfast at a teahouse. Today we start our walk with around two hours ascend until we reach at upper Sinuwa and start descend before we reach at a small Khola which is originated from Annapurna South and Hiunchuli’s Glacier. We can make a stop at Lower Sinuwa to have a rest with refreshment drinks. After crossing a suspension bridge over the Khola, we start steep ascend all the way to Chhomrong village.

Day 18: Trek from Chhomrong to Ghandruk (1,940m/6,363ft).

4-5 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Today, we follow a rather easy trail by following long descend before reaching at Jhinu danda and again to Mardi Khola. After crossing a small bridge of Modi Khola, we immediately start following uphill all the way to Ghandruk Village.

Day 19: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and Drive back to Pokhara.

3-4 Hrs walk, 1& half Hour drive Breakfast Hotel/Resort

After breakfast, the last day of our Annapurna Base Camp Trekking follows continuous descend until we reach at Syauli Bazaar. After there, we can catch a vehicle to Pokhara or continue easy and scenic straight trail all the way to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara.

Day 20: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Breakfast & Farewell Dinner Hotel/Resort

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive/fly to Kathmandu. Remaining time is to feel free for leisure and personal activities such as Shopping, markets explore, spa, massage, rest and relax can be an option. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner together with the entire team of Adventure Mountain Nepal.

Day 21:Final departure. Drop to airport as per flight schedule.

Our airport arrival and departure representative will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your scheduled flight. Fly to your home with a wonderful memory of Nepal.

How long will Singu Chuli Peak Climbing take ?

According to the standard itinerary our Singu Chuli Peak Climbing is of 23 days from your arrival to Kathmandu to farewell at Airport. If you wish to amend the itinerary you have to contact our booking manager and climbing leaders; they will prepare the best itinerary for you.

How many climbers will there be in a group ?

Generally for Climbing and Mountaineering we take up to 10 members in a group so that we can guide and coordinate each of them perfectly. If you have a group with more than ten members it’s fine with us. We provide some customizable features however if you are planning to climb solo it is not possible due to the restrictions made by Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA).

Do I need to have Travel Insurance during Trip ?

Yes!! It is recommended to have travel insurance during the trip. It is uncertain that you will not feel sick or get into any accidents during the trip. So, for medical emergencies and as precaution against risks and financial losses that could happen while climbing/trekking, insurance is best.

Should I manage the equipment/accessories for climbing by myself ?

All the equipment/accessories required for climbing will be arranged for you. You will have to pay the amount for equipment. If you personally want to manage any equipment by yourself it’s fine. What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height (1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like fatigue, loss of appetite, dizziness, sleep problems, shortness of breath, and loss of energy can be seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization. Measures for treating Acute Sickness:

  • You should stop and rest where you are for at least 24 to 48 hours
  • If you feel sick, take an anti-sickness medicine, such as promethazine/diamox
  • Make sure you're drinking adequate amount of water
  • Smoking, Drinking alcohol, or Exercise will make it worse
