Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Once you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, our representatives at the airport will welcome you and give a brief about the tour. Later on, we will take to the nearby hotel for overnight stay..

Day 02: Sightseeing Tours of the Kathmandu Valley.

We will start our trip with sightseeing tours of and nearby the Kathmandu valley. Especially, you will be able to visit various worldwide heritage sites, like Kathmandu Darbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Monkey Temple, Hanuman Dhoka Palace and many more.

Day 03: Flight to Lhasa (3660m).

On the third day of your trip, we will take 2 hours flight to reach Lhasa at 3660m. During the journey, you will get astonishing views of various high mountain peaks, which include the worldwide highest mountain peak i.e. Mount Everest, and the third-highest one i.e. Kanchenjunga. .

Day 04: Sightseeing Tour in the city of Lhasa.

Our sightseeing tour in the city of Lhasa includes visiting the famous Sera monastery, the beautiful Norbulingka and the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. In addition, you will be able to visit a holy place of Tibet named Jokhang Temple, while walk across Barkor, which implies many narrow streets and finally to the Lhasa market..

Day 05: Lhasa to Shigatse (350km and 3900m).

On this day, our team will drive you to reach Shigatse at 3900m after 7 hours. During this 350km journey, you will be able to view Tsangpo River, Khampa La Pass, Yamdrok Lake and stunning peaks of Ningdzingzonka. After this, by heading to west direction across the lake, you will find Gyantse Kumbum, the biggest Kumbum of Tibet..

Day 06: Tour to Tingri at 4150m and visit to Sakya and Natang Monasteriess.

Today will drive for 6 hours to reach at the height of 4150m at Tingri. During our journey, we will pass from Lhatse, a small town and traverse nearby Gyamtso La Pass situated at the height of 5220m. Meanwhile, we will visit two of the famous monasteries named Natang Monastery and Sakya Monastery.

Day 07: Trip to Rongbuk , 5000m.

By driving for about 2 hours, you will reach Tingri by starting from Rongbuk. During our tour, we will traverse the famous Pang La pass to view Himalayan mountain ranges, which extend up to Shishapangma by starting from Makalu. By moving across the mountain pass and entering the famous Rongbuk Valley, we will get charismatic views of the famous Mount Everest and the sacred Rongbuk Monastery..

Day 08: Today, we will explore the Everest Base Camp and enjoy the sunrise view from the crown of the almighty Mount Everest. Later on, our team will go ahead to hike to its base camp and discover the charismatic views of the northen face of Mount Everest. Finally, we will return to Shigatse.

Day 09: Return to Lhasa and finally to Kathmandu.

By traveling for 5 hours, we will return to Lhasa and finally to the city of Kathmandu. This time, our tour will let you visit the famous Tashilumo Monastery, which holds a strong figure of Lord Buddha in regions of Tibet. Lastly, we will put end to our trip by taking a flight to return to the city of Kathmandu.

What is the best time for trekking Tibet ?

The prime time for trekking Tibet is during Spring(March, April and May) and Autumn (October and November). During these seasons the weather will be clear, flowers will bloom on the way, the charm of the atmosphere can be felt by the heart, magnificent views of the Himalayas can be seen and mostly you can explore the wilderness of Tibet freely.

 

What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.

   

Can you go to Tibet without a visa ?

Flying to Tibet directly from international aircraft is not possible. There are two ways to enter the land of Tibet either from Nepal or China. Hence, to visit Tibet we need a special trekking permit for Tibet and Visa of Nepal or China. If you are traveling with us we will manage a Travel Permit to Tibet.

 

How about the weather and traveling seasons in Tibet ?

Tibet is an inland country and is extremely dry for 9 months of the year. It has continental climate usually with warm days and cool nights. Annual temperature variation is significant. Summers are warm and winters are cold. During Autumn and Spring seasons the temperature will be moderate and you will experience little rain which makes these seasons favorable to explore the wilderness of Tibet.

 

Do I need travel insurance to travel to Tibet ?

Yes!! It is recommended to have travel insurance during the trek. It is uncertain that you will not feel sick or get into any accidents during the trek. So, for medical emergencies or as precaution against risks and financial losses that could happen while traveling, insurance is best.

What is the food like ?

While traveling to Tibet you will get to taste a lot of Tibetan cuisine, Sichuan cuisine and western style dishes. Tibetan food is mostly made by using meat and less vegetables. If you are a meat lover then it is a great opportunity for you to explore different cuisines. Some of the famous foods are Yak Butter, Tibetan Mo:Mo, Tibetan Sausage, and Dry Meat.

 

Can we travel individually to Tibet ?

Due to restrictions put in place by the Chinese government in its provinces It is not allowed to travel to Tibet as an individual tourist.
