Kailash Mansarovar Tour – Yatra constitutes the holiest pilgrimage for almost every religion worldwide, like Buddhists, Hindus, Bon and Jains. This trip includes visiting the sacred Mansarovar Lake and Mount Kailash, recognized as the mountain abode of almighty Lord Shiva. In simple words, Mount Kailash constitutes a soul gratifying type of pilgrimage and navigates via the high mountains of the Himalayan region.

 

Every year, large numbers of pilgrims across the world opt to go for Kailash Yatra to get blessings from Lord Shiva. According to mythology, Mount Kailash circumambulation and Mansarovar Lake’s holy dip destroy every sin a person may deed in his/her previous 100 incarnations.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft) and transfer to Hotel.

Adventure Mountain Nepal Trekking and Climbing’s airport arrival and departure representative will meet you at the airport as per your arrival schedule. He/she welcome you and drive to the hotel. Check-in hotel and take a rest or relaxation time at Hotel. Then you can have a free excursion to know the surroundings and visit our office to get brief information of tour

Day 02: 140km Drive to reach Syabrubeshi at 3700 meters.

On this day, we will travel about 140km with our luxury coach to reach at Syabrubeshi located nearby the border of China..

Day 03: Drive to China Border and to Kerung (43km).

We will start our drive of 17km to reach the Chinese border from Syabrubeshi. Later on, from the border, we will experience 26 kilometers of drive to reach at Kerung for rest and overnight stay.

Day 04: Rest Day at Kerung.

Our team will rest and acclimatize in Kerung. However, as per your willingness, you may explore the city and its nearby areas.

Day 05: Journey to Saga/Dongba (375km) and Mansarovar (335km).

Today, we will travel about 375 km to reach the height of 4500 meters at Saga/Dongba. Later on, we move ahead by touring for 335km to cross further a height of 4500m to reach Mansarovar. From this point, you will find the first part of the entire Mansarovar Parikrama and view plenty of beautiful sceneries present in the Himalayan Mountains.

Day 06: Mansarovar to Darchen (110km, 4600m).

Today, you will conduct the holy pilgrimage at the famous Mansarovar Lake. You may take a dip in the sacred waters; participate in various spiritual activities, including Hawan and Pooja, as per your own tradition. Once you complete your divine undertakings, we will move ahead to reach Darchen. Even if you are able to bear the additional cost, you may choose for the Astapath excursion. Astapath implies eight steps or eight small mountains surrounding Mount Kailash. These mountains appear in lotus shape and arrange in eight petals..

Day 07: Drive of 12km to Diraphuk (4890m) via Yumdwari.

On the first day of your Kailash Parikrama, we will have our drive to Yumdwari and further, experience an arduous mountain trekking to reach our next destination at Diraphuk. If you face difficulty in walking, you may also hire a horse. In addition, yaks carry various kitchen equipments to complete the entire tour..

Day 08: Tour to Zhulthulphuk from Diraphuk (22km, 4790m).

Now, we will have the most strenuous day of the complete Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake tour. Pilgrims have to pass from Dolma-La Pass via the feet. On the route, we will stop for Gaurikund Darshan and finally arrive at Zhulthulphuk..

Day 09: Back to Saga/Dongba and later on to Kerung.

Now, we will start with our return journey by following the same system and same route to reach initially at Saga/Dongba and further move to Kerung.

Day 10: Drive to Manasarovar from Darchen and return to Saga.

We will start walking for 10km from Darchen for about to reach the Mansarovar Lake. Here, you will be able to explore last views of the entire trip i.e. Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar views. After this, we will return to Saga.

Day 11: Saga to Nyalam and finally to Kathmandu.

We will follow the same route to reach back at Nyalam and finally, take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu.

What is the best time for trekking Tibet ?

The prime time for trekking Tibet is during Spring(March, April and May) and Autumn (October and November). During these seasons the weather will be clear, flowers will bloom on the way, the charm of the atmosphere can be felt by the heart, magnificent views of the Himalayas can be seen and mostly you can explore the wilderness of Tibet freely.

 

What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.

   

Can you go to Tibet without a visa ?

Flying to Tibet directly from international aircraft is not possible. There are two ways to enter the land of Tibet either from Nepal or China. Hence, to visit Tibet we need a special trekking permit for Tibet and Visa of Nepal or China. If you are traveling with us we will manage a Travel Permit to Tibet.

 

How about the weather and traveling seasons in Tibet ?

Tibet is an inland country and is extremely dry for 9 months of the year. It has continental climate usually with warm days and cool nights. Annual temperature variation is significant. Summers are warm and winters are cold. During Autumn and Spring seasons the temperature will be moderate and you will experience little rain which makes these seasons favorable to explore the wilderness of Tibet.

 

Do I need travel insurance to travel to Tibet ?

Yes!! It is recommended to have travel insurance during the trek. It is uncertain that you will not feel sick or get into any accidents during the trek. So, for medical emergencies or as precaution against risks and financial losses that could happen while traveling, insurance is best.

What is the food like ?

While traveling to Tibet you will get to taste a lot of Tibetan cuisine, Sichuan cuisine and western style dishes. Tibetan food is mostly made by using meat and less vegetables. If you are a meat lover then it is a great opportunity for you to explore different cuisines. Some of the famous foods are Yak Butter, Tibetan Mo:Mo, Tibetan Sausage, and Dry Meat.

 

Can we travel individually to Tibet ?

Due to restrictions put in place by the Chinese government in its provinces It is not allowed to travel to Tibet as an individual tourist.
