Chulu west peak climbing  is considered as one of the best climbing a peak in the Annapurna region that offers unlimited climbing adventure. Chulu West Peak rises to the north of Manang in the Annapurna region of Nepal.  It is one of the best Himalaya trekking tours in Nepal. We highly recommend a good level of physical fitness and for the trekking of Chulu West Peak. We combine our trip of Chulu West Peak Climbing with a very popular Annapurna Round Trek. Chulu West may be a popular peak sited at a perfect altitude of the legendary Manang valley. Trekking on the bottom camp of the Chulu east peak provides glorious views of the high hills. Also, the splendid local settlements of the Manang valley will add beauty. Climbing at the Chulu West peak may be a bit tough task because the ascend takes place through the technically difficult topography of Nepal as all other Chulu Peaks( Chulu East, Chulu Far west). As you've got to use several sorts of ropes and sticking equipment while climbing. Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft) and transfer to Hotel.

BB plan Hotel or Resort

Kathmandu is at 1400m altitude, once you arrive here you will be taken to the hotel as per your request with the help of their representative. Your meal includes breakfast, but they prefer to plan your stay under BB plan so that you can select variety of taste in different restaurants around the city.

Day 02: Guided tour around world’s Heritage sites of Kathmandu.

Breakfast Hotel/Resor

We will take you for a tour around the world’s Heritage sites of Kathmandu with the help of a guide who will accompany you. You will be given breakfast also.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Chamje (1,410m/4,626ft altitude) via Beshisahar (823m/2,699ft).

Full day drive Full Board Tea House available

You will have a full day drive from Kathmandu to Chamje which is at 1410 m height via Beshishar that is 823 m height. We will provide you with a tea house accommodation which includes full board meals with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 04: Trek from Chamje to Dharapani (1,860m/6,100ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Trekking begins on this from Chamje to Dharapani at 1860m height that will require about 5 to 6 hrs walk. Accommodation will be at the Tea House with full board meals

Day 05: Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2,713m/8,898ft).

Tea House available Full Board 5-6 Hrs walk

Trekking continues to Chame further which is located at 2713 m altitude and will take about 5 to 6 hrs walk. We will provide you with breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Tea House accommodation.

Day 06: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,185m/10,446ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

From Chame you will trek to Pisang which is at the height of about 3185 m and needs 5 to 6 hrs walk. Your accommodation will be Tea house where you will enjoy the full board meal

Day 07: Trek from Pisang to Manang (3,551m/11,647ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Continue your trekking further to Manang from Pisang which is located at 3551 m altitude and will require about 5 to 6 hrs walk. We will provide you with Tea House accommodation with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 08: Rest Day at Manang.

Full Board Tea House

On this day we will provide you rest at Manang at your Tea house accommodation with full board plan meal.

Day 09: Trek from Manang to Ledar (4,167m/13,667ft).

4-5 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Again your trek begins from Manang to Ledar which is situated at 4167 m altitude and needs about 4 to 5 hrs walk. You will be rested at tea house with complete day meal.

Day 10: Trek from Ledar to Chulu West Base Camp (4,920m/16,137ft).

4-5 Hrs ascend Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

You move up from Ledar to Chulu West Base Camp at 4920m and will take 4 to 5 hrs. Your stay is shifted to Tented camps with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 11: Trek from Chulu West Base Camp to Camp I (5,170m/16,957ft).

4-5 Hrs ascend Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

Further, continue the trekking to Camp I at 5170m altitude and needs 4 to 5 hrs climbing. Staying will be in the tented camps with full board meal plan.

Day 12: Rest, Acclimatization & climbing preparation at Camp.

Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

We will provide you a rest day at the tented camps for the preparation of getting adapted to climbing preparation at Camp I. You will be provided with complete meal for the day.

Day 13: Trek from Camp I to Camp II (5,400m/17,712ft).

4-5 Hrs ascend Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

You go trekking from Camp I to Camp II which is 5400 m altitude and the complete process of ascending will take about 4 to 5 hrs. You will be accommodated in the tented camps and provided with full board meals.

Day 14: Summit Chulu West Peak (6,419m/21,054ft) & back to Camp.

8-9 Hrs ascend/descend Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

You have to trek to Summit Chulu West Peak which is at 6419m and then back to the Camp which will almost take 8 to 9 hrs to climb up and down. You will be provided with tented camps and full board meals.

Day 15: Trek from Camp I to Ledar.

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Further proceed trekking to Ledar which is 5 to 6 hrs walk. Resting place is at the Tea House and will be given breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 16: Trek from Ledat to Thorong Phedi (4,600m/15,092ft).

3-4 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

This day you will trek from Ledar to Thorong Phedi which is 4600 m and needs 3 to 4 hrs walk. Resting will be tea house accommodation with full board meal.

Day 17: Trek to Muktinath (3,800m/12,467ft altitude) via Thorang La Pass (5,416m/17,764ft).

7-8 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

From Thorong Phedi you will have to go trekking to Muktinath which is 3800m altitude via Thorang La Pass which is 5416m altitude. It is a hectic walk but you will enjoy trekking watching the beautiful views. Resting can be done at the Tea House and enjoy the entire meal for the day.

Day 18: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,730m/8,954ft).

3-4 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

From Muktinath you further trek to Jomsom, which is 2730m height. Here, you need 3 to 4 hrs walk. The accommodation available is Tea House and will be provided with full board meal.

Day 19: Fly to Pokhara. Sightseeing, boating or free for any other personal activities.

Breakfast Hotel/Resort

You will be taken from here to Pokhara by flight. There you can go for sightseeing, boating or can enjoy any personal activities as the day will be at your disposal. Accommodation will be at the Hotel with breakfast.

Day 20: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Breakfast & Farewell Dinner Hotel/Resort

From, Pokhara you will be driven to Kathmandu and will be given breakfast and a farewell dinner where you can enjoy.

Day 21: Final departure. Drop to airport as per flight schedule.

On the last day farewell departure along with breakfast and will be taken to the Tribhuwan International Airport for a return journey that ends your trip.

How hard is Chulu West Peak Climbing ?

Chulu West Peak Climbing is considered strenuous peak to climb. It isn't that technically difficult to climb Chulu West Peak. This trip is recommended for climbers who have basic level of mountaineering skills.

Which is the best season for Chulu West Peak Climbing ?

The best season for Chulu West Peak Climbing is during Spring (March, April and May) and Autumn (October and November). During these seasons conditions are safe enough for climbers to try and reach the summit, the weather will be clear, moderate temperature, you will get long sunlight hours, fewer bugs, flowers will bloom on the way, the charm of the atmosphere can be felt by the heart, magnificent views of the Himalayas can be seen and you can escape the crowd and enjoy adventure peak climbing.

How long will Chulu West Peak Climbing take ?

According to the standard itinerary our Chulu West Peak Climbing is of 19 days from your arrival to Kathmandu to farewell at Airport. If you wish to amend the itinerary you have to contact our booking manager and climbing leaders; they will prepare the best itinerary for you.

How many climbers will there be in a group ?

Generally for Climbing and Mountaineering we take up to 10 members in a group so that we can guide and coordinate each of them perfectly. If you have a group with more than ten members it’s fine with us. We provide some customizable features however if you are planning to climb solo it is not possible due to the restrictions made by Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA).

What about Food and Accommodation Services ?

Due to the advancement of the trekking industry, we can find enough lodges and tea houses throughout trip routes. They offer good food and accommodation. There are different options you can choose according to your needs and budget. Also you should know that at high altitude and remote places the service will be limited.

Do I need to have Travel Insurance during Trip ?

Yes!! It is recommended to have travel insurance during the trip. It is uncertain that you will not feel sick or get into any accidents during the trip. So, for medical emergencies and as precaution against risks and financial losses that could happen while climbing/trekking, insurance is best.

Should I manage the equipment/accessories for climbing by myself ?

All the equipment/accessories required for climbing will be arranged for you. You will have to pay the amount for equipment. If you personally want to manage any equipment by yourself it’s fine. What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height (1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like fatigue, loss of appetite, dizziness, sleep problems, shortness of breath, and loss of energy can be seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization. Measures for treating Acute Sickness:

  • You should stop and rest where you are for at least 24 to 48 hours
  • If you feel sick, take an anti-sickness medicine, such as promethazine/diamox
  • Make sure you're drinking adequate amount of water
  • Smoking, Drinking alcohol, or Exercise will make it worse
