Chulu East Peak Climbing is well known among climbing peaks of Annapurna Region. Chulu East Peak (6,584m) is the highest peak among Chulu Peaks (Chulu East, Chulu West & Chulu Far East). It is located inside the Annapurna region of Nepal standing as a piece of Manang Himal. In 1955, the members of German Expedition Team J. Wellenkamp, H. Biller, and F. Lobbichler were the first ones to climb Chulu East Peak through the southern wing. Following in 1979 an additional team of Dick Isherwood and John Noble climbed through Northeast ridge. Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft) and transfer to Hotel.

Upon your arrival at the airport (KTM), you'll be greeted by our friendly representative from our office. After completing immigration formalities ( obtain Visa if you've got not obtained one in your home country ) and claiming your luggage you proceed to arrival platform and appearance for our representative together . You'll be then transferred to your hotel. You'll either take a rest, attempt to adjust within the new environment and city or visit our office. It all depends upon your interest. Overnight within the Hotel.

Day 02:Guided tour around world’s Heritage sites of Kathmandu.

Breakfast Hotel/Resort

Today after breakfast, we start a guided tour of many historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. All of those sites in Kathmandu are listed in UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Our tour includes the places like historic and artistic Royal palace complex ( referred to as Durbar Square) of the 12th - 18th century, sacred Hindu temple Pashupatinath, famous Buddhist shrine within the valley Swoyambhunath, and Boudhanath.
After the tour returns to the Hotel and asks the trek guide and other staff about the trek preparation. If you need to shop for anything ( trek gears or others ) for the trek buy such in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Chamje (1,410m/4,626ft) via Beshisahar (823m/2,699ft).

Full day drive Full Board Tea House available

You will have a full day drive from Kathmandu to Chamje which is at 1410 m height via Beshishar that is 823 m in height. We will provide you with a tea house accommodation which includes full board meals with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 04:Trek from Chamje to Dharapani (1,860m/6,100ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Trekking begins on this from Chamje to Dharapani at 1860m height that will require about 5 to 6 hrs walk. Accommodation will be at the Tea House with full board meals.

Day 05:Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2,713m/8,898ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Trekking continues to Chame further which is located at 2713 m altitude and will take about 5 to 6 hrs walk. We will provide you with breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Tea House accommodation.

Day 06: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,185m/10,446ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

From Chame you will trek to Pisang which is at the height of about 3185 m and needs 5 to 6 hrs walk. Your accommodation will be Tea house where you will enjoy the full board meal.

Day 07: Trek from Pisang to Yak Kharka (4,210m/13,809ft).

5-6 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

After having breakfast within the morning the trip commences towards Yak Kharka. As you commence the short trek today you'll see within the distance the sole airport on the side of the trail. After reaching at Yak Kharka, you'll find a couple of houses and lodges during a small opened up settlement. Overnight at Yak Kharka.

Day 08: Trek from Yak Kharka to Chulu East Base Camp (5,140/16,859ft).

(4-5 Hrs walk Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

Today, we'll follow a steeply climbing trail to succeed in at Chulu East Base Camp. The climbing trail sometimes crosses rocks also . During the trek, our journey are going to be accompanied with Annapurna Valley Himalayan views. Camping Overnight at Base Camp.

Day 09-14 :Climbing period of Chulu East Peak (6,584m/21,596ft) and back to Base Camp.

Full Board Tea Houses are not available–Tented Camps

Another long day of climbing on the snowy and rocky landscape takes us to High Camp. We come out of the tent camp and start training for the subsequent day. Our guides will provide training on techniques and therefore the proper ways of using climbing gears like the ice axe , climbing boots and crampons, harness, ascender, etc. This training isn't necessary if you've got climbed peaks before, however, it's a confidence-building exercise and only increases the likelihood of our success. Overnight during a tented camp.

Starting on a level trail, the rocky path gradually becomes steeper. An exhausting but thrilling climb takes us to the highest, where we've mesmerizing views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Pisang Peak, Chulu West, and therefore the Himlung Valley at the side. Day 15: Trek from Chulu East Base Camp to Ledar (4,167m/13,667ft).

Today we will descend from Base camp to Ledar (4167m). From the base camp of the Chulu east peak, trek towards the Ledar viewing the wonderful view of the surroundings. Overnight stay at Ledar.

Day 16:Trek from Ledat to Thorong Phedi (4,600m/15,092ft).

3-4 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

From Ledar, trek towards the Thorung Phedi. Thorung Phedi is a small settlement but is very happening or busy settlement of the region.The trekking will continue for about 3 to 4 hours through the main trail.Overnight stay at Thorung Phedi.

Day 17:Trek to Muktinath (3,800m/12,467ft) via Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17,764ft).

7-8 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Early morning Breakfast at a teahouse, start walking early within the morning at 4 A.M. we've to cross Thorong La pass, a highest and main attraction point during our trek within the morning, since if we become late to cross the pass, the snow are going to be melted by sunlight and overall weather goes worse. We spend a brief and crucial time at the pass with photographs of splendid scenery, then the trail starts following an extended descend all the thanks to Muktinath. Muktinath may be a famous temple of Hindu and Buddhist Goddess with massive religious significant offers a grand view of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Katung and other snow-capped peaks.

Day 18: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,730m/8,954ft).

3-4 Hrs walk Full Board Tea House available

Breakfast at teahouse then we visit famous pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists Muktinath temple, Vishnu temple and Gompa. then we follow descends trail Jharkot. After there we follow continuous motor road all the thanks to Jomsom, thus it's also an choice to have a jeep drive from Muktinath to Jomsom. At evening explore around Jomsom Bazaar and luxuriate in the celebration on the occasion of complete Annapurna Circuit Trekking with AMN Trekking and Climbing Team.

Day 19: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,730m/8,954ft).

We take a morning flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. Once we reach at the beautiful lake city Pokhara, a full day feel free to have personal activities, know the surroundings, rest and relaxation, boating at Fewa Lake, etc.

Day 20:Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Breakfast & Farewell Dinner Hotel/Resort

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive/fly to Kathmandu. Remaining time is to feel free for leisure and personal activities such as Shopping, markets explore, spa, massage, rest and relax can be an option. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner together with an entire team of Adventure Mountain Nepal.

Day 21:Final departure. Drop to airport as per flight schedule.

Our airport arrival and departure representative will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your scheduled flight.

Chulu East Peak stands in north Annapurna, the most magnificent area of the Himalaya and is surrounded rugged mountains. At an altitude of (6584 m/21,601ft) and it's geographical coordinates are 28° 44' 10'' N, 84° 2' 5'' E .

How hard is Chulu East Peak Climbing ?

Chulu East Peak Climbing is considered strenuous peak to climb. It can be technically difficult to climb Chulu East Peak with zero experience. This trip is recommended for climbers who have intermediate level of mountaineering skills.

Which is the best season for Chulu East Peak Climbing ?

How many climbers will there be in a group ?

Generally for Climbing and Mountaineering we take up to 10 members in a group so that we can guide and coordinate each of them perfectly. If you have a group with more than ten members it’s fine with us. We provide some customizable features however if you are planning to climb solo it is not possible due to the restrictions made by Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA).

What about Food and Accommodation Services ?

Due to the advancement of the trekking industry, we can find enough lodges and tea houses throughout trip routes. They offer good food and accommodation. There are different options you can choose according to your needs and budget. Also you should know that at high altitude and remote places the service will be limited.

Do I need to have Travel Insurance during Trip ?

Yes!! It is recommended to have travel insurance during the trip. It is uncertain that you will not feel sick or get into any accidents during the trip. So, for medical emergencies and as precaution against risks and financial losses that could happen while climbing/trekking, insurance is best.

Should I manage the equipment/accessories for climbing by myself ?

What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height (1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like fatigue, loss of appetite, dizziness, sleep problems, shortness of breath, and loss of energy can be seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization. Measures for treating Acute Sickness:

  • You should stop and rest where you are for at least 24 to 48 hours
  • If you feel sick, take an anti-sickness medicine, such as promethazine/diamox
  • Make sure you're drinking adequate amount of water
  • Smoking, Drinking alcohol, or Exercise will make it worse
