Ruby Valley Trek Overview

Ghatlang village, where mostly thee inhabitation is done by Tamang people comprise of many hills and scared temples worth visiting. Take a step forward to climb the steeply landscapes and an enchanting forest covered by pine and colourful Rhododendron flowers along with a walk towards Somdang river. The heartily welcome done by community people for the travellers are one of the pleasing things every person feels and delight about. Get to know the Tamang and sherpas lifestyle of this place and the cultural habits they follow can be amazingly new to most of the visitors.

The home stay, exploration of remote villages and the mind blowing view of astonishing mountains such as- Ganesh Himal, the mountain named after the elephant-headed god Ganesh, Langtang Lirung, Boudha Himal, Hiunchuli Dorje Lakpa, Manaslu and numerous snow-capped peaks making the trekkers amazed with its splendid beauty. The travelers get to walk through all kind of landscapes, numbers of river bridges, lush forest and less travelled golden villages. A route following the greenery of terraced farmland, cattle grazing and crystalline waterfalls takes towards Tipling via Pangsang Pass. The travellers can take a hot bath at the natural hot spring (Tatopani) and return back to Chalish Gaon. Return towards Kathmandu from Darkha Fedi by experiencing different kind of trial comprising of every small little things pleasing the trekkers. This trial can be exclusively new to every visitor to explore new kind of trekking trail.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

We welcome you at the international airport in Kathmandu and from there; we take you to a good and a budget-friendly hotel/resort. Accommodation: t as per your request. Meal includes: Breakfast. We prefer BB plan for your stay in cities so you can choose varieties of tastes in different restaurants around the city.

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi (1460m/4790ft) (7-8 hrs walk).

We will start our journey from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi drive and Langtang National Park where our permit gets checked. Then we follow the trisuli river, small villages, narrow and rocky paths to reach Syabrubesi.

Day 03: Trek to Gatlang (2238m/7342ft) (5-6 hrs walk).

We will start our walk from Gatlang and pass through Parvati kunda (a holy lakenamed from a hindu goddess Parvati). Then, we pass through the woodland covered by Rhododendron. On the way, we also explore the tunnel where the zinc, copper,crystal and rubies were extracted.

Day 04: Trek to Somdang (3271m/10731ft) (6-7 hrs walks).

On this day we will walk through rocky steep land and woodlands with various herbs and flowers along with a magnificient view of mountains. We will spend a night at somdang.

Day 05: Acclimatization day.

This is the day to explore the beauty of Somdang and to adjust with the high altitude. It helps to bring ease in further journey and causes low chances of high altitude sickness. Uncover the beauty of the giant mountains, crystalline atmosphere, rocky landscapes and delightful villages. .

Day 06: Trek to Tipling via Pangsang Pass (3842m/12604ft) (8-10hrs walk).

On this day we will walk through the Pangsang La Pass (3,850 meters mountain pass above sea level) from where we can see the splendid mountains. Walking through the diverse landscapes provides a sense of adventure. And spend a night at a wonder village Tipling.

Day 07: Trek to Shertung (1875m/6151ft) (4-5 hrs walk).

Sertung is a very wonderful place where we can rejoice the view of wonderful mountains and explore the culture of the people living there. We will get to know the living style of sherpas, their food habit and many more things about community people.

Day 08: Trek to Tatopani (hot springs - 2½hrs) and back to Chalish Gaon (1674m/5492ft) (total 5 hrs walk).

After some hours of walk we can find a natural hot water spring where we can erase our exhaustion and rejoice a warm water along with the view of mountains and forests. Then we will trek back to Chalish Gaun and stay there overnight.

Day 09: Trek to Jharlang district (approx 1800m/5905 ft) ( 6 hrs walk).

Move towards Jharlang crossing some thin forest and enjoying the diversified landscapes and waterfalls on the way. We can find the Jharlang district mostly inhibated by Tamangs where we ann get to khow the Tamang’s culture and lifestyle.

Day 10: Trek to Darkha Gaun (850m/2788ft) (6-7hrs walk).

Some of the forest and a rough landscapes and some small river bridges with a scenic views of mountains leads towards Darkha Gaun. It’s an small village with the welcoming people wehre a travellers can enjoy the new community of Darkha and get to know the living style of people there.

Day 11: Trek to Darkha Phedi (45 mins trek) and drive to Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft) via Dhading Besi (6-7hrs drive).

After a 45 minutes walk from Darkha Gaun, we reach to Darkha Phedi where we then travel by jeep to Kathmandu via the headquater of Dhading. We will spend the evening at Kathmandu with farewell dinner.

Day 12: Final departure.

We will drop you to the Kathmandu located Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure.

How difficult is it to trek Ruby Valley ?

Ruby Valley Trek Is Considered moderately difficult trek. You will encounter challenging routes and remote areas where services will be limited. There are numerous challenges like the rugged terrain, steep slopes, trekking route through stone stairs and continuous walking of 5 to 6 hours per day. That being said, the Ruby Valley Trek can be done by travelers who have the right attitude and are physically fit.

Which is the prime time for Ruby Valley Trek?

Is the Internet accessible during the Manaslu Rupina La Pass Trek ?

Yes!! The Internet is accessible during the Ruby Valley Trek. You can access the 3G network on mobile phones. The mobile internet is fast enough to browse and even make video calls. You will get continuous signal during the whole trek but there will be certain dark spots along the trek where connection may drop. There are limited WiFi hotspots during the trek which will charge for usage only some will let you use it for free. So, for internet access we recommend you to buy a SIM and use 3G.

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.
