Langtang Valley Trek Overview

Langtang have 70 and above glaciers, incredible flora and fauna and culturally rich village settlements are some of the thing to be graceful. The steps ahead from SyaruBesi, the way runs through many water bridges, rhododendron forest and small villages inhabited mostly by Tamang community. The flapping prayer flag welcomes the travellers towards Langtang village where the sheeps and yaks pastures are seen the farm land. The popular and ancient Kyangjin Gompa and cheese factory is one of attraction at this site. Hike towards KyanginRi or Cherko Ri that is situated above 4,500meter from the seal level. Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.

We will begin our trip on your arrival at the city of Kathmandu with our airport pickup service. On your arrival, our expert trek guide will brief you about the entire trip. Accommodation: as per your request. Meal includes: Breakfast. We prefer BB plan for your stay in cities so you can choose varieties of tastes in different restaurants around the city.

Day 02: Sightseeing around World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu.

We will have a guided tour with sightseeing of various worldwide heritage sites in Kathmandu. These include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and landmarks, such as Pashupati Nath Hindu Temple, Monkey Temple (Swyambhu Nath), Bouddha Nath, and more.

Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi (1,500m/4921ft) ( 7-8 hrs drive).

We will go for a drive across north-western hills of Kathmandu, where you may enjoy panoramic views of Himalayan Mountains, rustic villages and terraced fields. Later on, we visit to Trishuli Bazar and then to Dhunche. Finally, we descend towards Syabru Besi.

Day 04: Trek to Lama hotel (2,487m/8159ft)( 6 hrs walk).

We will walk for 5 to 6 hours today. Our walk will start from the Langtang River Bank and go for a trail via thick forest filled with bamboo, pine and oak trees. Route involves passing through riverbank before beginning a gentle ascent of 4-5 hours towards Lama Hotel.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village (3,430m/11253ft) (6-7 hrs walk).

Our team will leave from Lama Hotel and continue to pass through high altitude to get wonderful mountain scenes consisting of waterfalls and flowing river. While we reach Ghora Tabela’s green meadows, we will be able to view the snow-white peaks of the famous Langtang range. After we walk for 3 hours, we may reach Langtang village to get a unique charm of its flat-rooted houses in Tibetan style, water-driven mills and prayer wheels.

Day 06: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,800m/12467ft) (3 hrs walk).

Our trek guides will continue the trek down to Langtang valley for approximately 4 hours to pass through tiny and ethnic villages of Tibetan style to reach at Kyangjin Gompa. This gompa is at the small pain surrounding snowy Langtang peaks, such as Langtang Ri at 6370meters, Dorje Larpa at 6990meters, Yala Peak at 5520meters and Langtang Lirung at 7245meters. Alternatively, we may opt to go for an acclimatization hike to the famous Kyanjin Ri peak.

Day 07: Hike to Kyangjin Ri (4,773m/15659ft) or Hike to Tserko Ri (4,984m,16351ft) (7-8 hrs walk).

Located at the height of (4984m/16351ft), reaching to Tserko Ri requires a steep climb from Kyangjin Gompa. Here, you will get spectacular views of hilly mountains and nearby peaks across the Langtang Valley.

Day 08: Trek to Lama hotel (2,487m/8159ft) (6-7 hrs walk).

Now, we will descend downwards towards the Lama Hotel via Langtang village. Here, you will get an excellent trail while passing from Ghora Tabela and finally, descend towards Lama Hotel.

Day 09: Trek to Syabru Beshi (1,500m/4921ft) via Sherpa village (6-7 hrs walk).

Our trekkers will follow the route towards Syabru Besi. Route will go into a small village named Syarpagaon and continue over Khangjung and Bhanjyanggaon before one should descend back to the Syabru Besi.

Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu.

Today, we will follow an 8-hour drive to go back to Kathmandu and then transfer you to the hotel. After your trek journey, you will get a spare day to be the part of various personal activities. Feel free to contact our tour operator for any additional activities.

Day 11: Final Departure.

Finally, our team will give you farewell and drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu in Nepal.

How difficult is Langtang Valley Trek ?

Langtang Valley Trek Is Considered moderately difficult trek. Although there are numerous challenges like the rugged terrain, steep slopes, trekking route through stone stairs and continuous walk of 5 to 6 hours per day. That being said, the Langtang Valley Trek can be done by travelers who have the right attitude and are physically fit.

Which is the prime time for Langtang Valley Trek ?

The prime time for trekking Langtang Valley is during Spring (March, April and May) and Autumn (October and November). During these seasons the weather will be clear, you will get long sunlight hours, fewer bugs, flowers will bloom on the way, the charm of the atmosphere can be felt by the heart, magnificent views of the Himalayas can be seen and you can escape the crowd and enjoy the pleasure of trekking.

Is the Internet accessible during the Langtang Valley Trek ?

Yes!! The Internet is accessible during the Langtang Valley Trek. You can access the 3G network on mobile phones. The mobile internet is fast enough to browse and even make video calls. You will get continuous signal during the whole trek but there will be certain dark spots along the trek where connection may drop. What about altitude Sickness ?

Normally, Within 12-24 hours after ascending a certain height(1,500 to 2,500 meter above sea level) altitude sickness symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep problems, loss of energy, and shortness of breath are seen. In case of any altitude sickness symptoms we will apply medication and descend immediately for acclimatization.

How to select a local agency for trekking?

Trekking via the local agency is one of the great ideas for trekkers. There are more local trekking organizations in Nepal. The hard part is you need to recognize whether they are authorized businesses and are members of the Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN).You can view their internet site and profiles commonly all legal organizations will upload their profile along with authorities-legal certificates.

What is the Accommodation Like ?

How long will it take to trek to Langtang Valley ?
