Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft) and transfer to Hotel.

Arrive to the Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu, from where our representatives will welcome you and take you to the hotel.

Day 02: Mountain biking sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley.

Today, we will have our mountain biking sightseeing tour across the entire valley of Kathmandu. Particularly, we will opt to experience sightseeing on various worldwide heritage sites, which include Pashupatinath Temple, the Monkey Temple of Swayambhunath, Patan Durbar and similar others.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Besi Sahar (760m/2,492ft).

Today, our team will make a journey for 5 to 6 hours to experience the real adventure. We will reach at the height of about 760 meters to Besi Sahar.

Day 04: Ride from Besi Sahar to Jagat (1,360m/4,460ft).

Starting from Besi Sahar, we will reach at the beginning point of our biking trek i.e. Jagat located between Mount Manaslu and various high mountain peaks of Annapurna region. The track that leads to Jagat will head up in the north direction via Marsyangdi valley with Ngadi Chuli and Himalchuli peaks looming on the horizon. In addition, our trekking team will pass from quiet villages and lush fields of rice paddies before reaching to the guesthouse located in Jagat.

Day 05: Ride from Jagat to Tal (1,700m/5,576ft).

Now, our trekkers will follow a rocky hiking trail followed by Marsyangdi River, where we will pass from magnificent waterfalls and simultaneously, lush as well as green fauna and flora. In addition, our trail will progress uphill towards the Tal that implies lake in Nepali language. Here, you will find dramatic changes in the scenes from lush beginnings of your biking trek.

Day 06: Ride from Tal to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft).

Our trail on this day will follow Marsyangdi River and climbs at about 2360 meters to reach Timang. We will continue our trail by passing from fir and pine forests to enjoy incredible views of Annapurna II peak at 7937 meters and other mountain peaks of the entire valley. Before we should reach to Chame, known as the administrative centre of the district Manang, we will also see few outstanding views of Peak 29 and Mount Manaslu.

Day 07: Ride from Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10,824ft).

While trekking on seventh day, we will find Marsyangdi Valley as narrowing consistently and reaching at its steepest point, while our trail carved within the vertical face of the rock. While moving on this point, we will find opening of the valley to highlight a majestic vista of mountain, where the rock of Paungda Danda face towers at more than 1,500 meters above the head of your trail. Local Gurungs perceive that the top of Paungda Danda constitutes the Gateway towards Heaven and the impressive view will continue to follow, as we move ahead to Pisang.

Day 08: Ride from Pisang to Manang (3,551m/11,647ft).

Biking trail will continue throughout the entire upper region of Manang District, where you may see and experience the influence of Buddhist and/or Tibetan culture. People of this region usually involved in herding of yaks and rising of maize as well as other crops. Once we leave Pisang, we will find two options following the Marsyangdi River and both of them will take us to Braga and Mungji villages again with its excellent monasteries in either of the northern route or southern route. Southern route includes a gentle climb across the river, while the northern route is relatively more strenuous and demanding, as you have to climb up to the northern ridge of the entire valley. Here, you will again be able to get stunning views of upper northern route belonging to the Annapurna region.

Day 09: Rest/Acclimatization day at Manang.

Today, we will have our rest or acclimatization day at Manang, as during further days, we have to experience long distance walks across high altitude. Here, possibilities include hiking up at the height of about 400 meters towards the hill present behind Manang and visiting the nearby monastery. Here, you will also be able to find various magnificent views of the complete Annapurna mountain range and icefall, as crashing down via Gangapurna. Alternatively, you may experience a challenging hike of 4500 meters to Ice Lake for about 5 to 6 hours to get stunning views present in the region.

Day 10: Ride from Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484ft).

By leaving from Manang, we would move ahead to the base of mountain pass named Thorung La Pass. By climbing the mountain pass and passing from Marsyangdi valley we will get the opportunity to immerse ourselves to the beauty of Himalayan region and simultaneously view fir and pine forests. Today, we have a relatively short trek to reach Yak Huts, popularly known as Yak Kharka among Nepal’s yak herders, as they often bring animals at the same place to graze.

Day 11: Ride from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,600m/15,092ft).

We will have our short trek for the day to experience acclimatization. In this case, the scenery becomes wilder while we continue with ascending across the valley. Our trekking trail descends by crossing the river and thereby, moving towards the topmost lodge at about 4450 meters. Phedi in Nepal’s language implies foot of a mountain pass and obviously, the word is true, as the place is below the Thorung La mountain pass.

Day 12: Ride from Thorong Phedi to Kagbeni (2,800m/91,84ft) via Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17764ft).

On this day, we will pass from Thorong La mountain pass to reach at Kagbeni from Thorong Phedi.

Day 13: Ride from Kagbeni to Tatopani (1,190m/3,903ft).

Another short biking and hiking trek involves riding about 42 kilometers to Tatopani by starting from Kagbeni.

Day 14: Ride from Tatopani to Beni (830m/2,722ft) & Drive to Pokhara.

We will have our bike ride on the sloping terrain towards foothills of Himalayan region to move towards the Beni village. While ending our ride, we will experience a short drive to travel remaining way within the relaxed Pokhara town located across the lakeside. This point constitutes the end of our Bike and Hike tour to the entire Annapurna Circuit.

Day 15: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

We return to Kathmandu following the gorge of the Trisuli River, arriving in Kathmandu in the afternoon. Wander around the medieval Durbar Square in the heart of the city, sample some Newari cuisine, or shop for some locally made handicrafts and souvenirs.

Day 16: Final departure. Drop to airport as per flight schedule.

We will have our farewell dinner during the evening time at nearby local restaurant and finally, our team will drop to the Tribhuwan International Airport of Kathmandu in Nepal.

There is no age limit if you are able to ride a bike you can go for adventure mountain biking and hiking. Absolutely, there are multiple routes to multiple destinations with different levels of difficulty thus you can choose the route according to your skills and experience. How to prepare for a Hike and Bike Adventure ?

If you have decided to go for adventure hiking and biking certainly there are some preparations you should make.

Clothing and Footwear: This is the second most important thing you should consider during a hike and bike adventure. You should always wear comfortable shoes and also take hiking season into consideration so that you can buy clothes accordingly.

Food and Drink: Bring snacks or foods as you desire and a bottle of water or other drinks of your choice. Also do not forget to bring a garbage bag.

 

How many guides does Hike and Bike Adventure have ?

Generally, Hike and Bike Adventure is in charge of a single guide. We may require additional guides for more guests and multiple hiking or biking routes.
Also if you are planning for a self guided tour we are more than happy to make the required arrangements for mountain bikes and every other thing you may need but we suggest you to have a guide that is not that costly and it has many perks then self guided tour.

 

Can I bring my own bike ?

Yes!! There are no restrictions for bringing your own bike. You are welcome to do so but you should know that we will not be responsible for its possible damages and safety.
