Mt. Annapurna is located in the north-central part of Nepal which includes one major peak above 8,000 meters from the sea level that is called Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m/26,545ft). The 55 kilometers long massif contains a total of sixteen peaks above 6,000 meters and a total of thirteen peaks above 7.000 meters which are leaped by the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki Gorge on the west and Marshyangdi River on the north and east and by Pokhara Valley on the south. Annapurna I is the world’s tenth highest mountain. The complete Annapurna massif is located inside the Annapurna Conservation Area which is the largest and first conservation area project of Nepal.

If we go through documented records, the Mt. Annapurna I expedition is recognized as the world’s dangerous mountain to climb since the death record is highest of all eight-thousander. Mt. Annapurna I Expedition can be considered as the most challenging adventure climbing in Nepal.Mt. Annapurna I was first climbed by a French expedition team in 1950.

It is possible to do this trek in all seasons. However, the snow level in the winter may cause Base Camp to close. In springtime, the huge rhododendron forests are in full bloom making the trek an extra appeal.

For trekkers having less time period who wish to trek around  Annapurna range are recommended to choose another package  Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Circuit Trek.
